Way back in 1992, we hit the open road as Epic Expeditions, taking travellers on unforgettable overland adventures across Southern Africa. But something was missing—where were the differently-abled explorers? We realised that safaris should be for everyone, not just the able-bodied. So, in 2001, Epic Enabled was born, making African safaris and tours barrier-free, accessible, inclusive, and—most importantly—EPIC!

We cater to individuals, families, friends, and groups from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. Meet Alfie, the legendary founder, owner, and fearless leader of Epic Enabled & Epic Expeditions! Not only is he your expert driver and guide, but he's also part safari whisperer, part road warrior, and part adventure architect. He's explored South America, Europe, and Africa, leading overland adventures that turn bucket lists into reality. With 25 years' operating in accessible tours and having led every tour and safari over that time, he is highly trained, motivated and experienced in leadership and group dynamics. Along with his right-hand-man Charles, who has 15 years experience in accessible safari's their years of experience combined are unmatched. With an extensive knowledge of local conditions and a toolbox of mechanical know-how complemented by an unmatched passion for Africa's beauty, Alfie and Charles make your adventure is both a smooth ride and an epic journey. You're in the best hands possible.

While Alfie is out conquering the wilderness, Shannon is making sure everything runs like clockwork. With years of experience in General Management, Shannon transitioned into healthcare as a Chronic Care Manager before joining Epic Enabled. She leverages her expertise in administration and healthcare to keep operations running smoothly from start to finish. She's the powerhouse who keeps everything organised, efficient, and stress-free. From booking your once-in-a-lifetime trip to ensuring all the details are just right, Shannon is the heartbeat and lifeblood of Epic Enabled.

Society often assumes that people with mobility challenges wouldn't—or couldn't—go on a safari. But you know what? Zebras DO exist! At Epic Enabled, we know that every adventurer is different—so we've made sure our vehicles are too! Whether you're rolling in a wheelchair, cruising with a walking aid, or just looking for a super comfortable ride, our specially adapted safari vehicles are designed for safety, comfort, and full-throttle adventure. Our accessible vehicles are especially adapted by qualified mechanical engineers for wheelchair passengers to travel in total safety and comfort. Each of our vehicles has been expertly modified by mechanical engineers, ensuring that wheelchair users travel securely, comfortably, and with total peace of mind. Epic's vehicles are equipped with a hydraulic lift to allow wheelchair users safe access into the vehicle in the comfort of their own wheelchair and once inside have factory built, quick-release tie-downs welded into the vehicle framework to ensure safety whilst the vehicle is in motion, your ride is as safe as it is smooth.
